Hello, this is Scott, and I'm going to take a shot at...myself. Every teacher I ever had who was responsible for adminstering a test to me and my classmates all said the same thing: go with your first answer. Trust your instincts. Well, two gameweeks into the start of the season, I've already realized how much I've failed at doing just that.
My FPL team is decidedly average. It could, however, be so different. Now, you don't have to believe what I'm about to say. In fact, you probably won't. Here goes anyway.
I had 3 different versions of my team leading up to the start of the season. The earliest version -- a Salah-less version, it's important for you to know -- had:
- Ederson instead of David de Gea
- Marcos Alonso instead of Ben Davies
- Benjamin Mendy instead of Ryan Bertrand
- Sadio Mane instead of Leroy Sane
- Marko Arnautovic in place of Roberto Firmino
- Callum Wilson in place of Josh King
For those of you scoring at home, if I had stuck with my first choices, I would have 70 more points now than I do. And that doesn't factor in captain's points.
So what am I going to do now? Use my wildcard to make all these moves? Feels like a panic move.
Use my free transfers and play things safe, hoping to catch up one week at a time? Yeah, probably. But I'm going to do it a very specific way.
I'm going to avoid the FPL app and website until Saturday morning. At the last minute, I'm going to look at my options for those two free transfers. Whatever two moves inspire me first, that's what I'm going to do. Here's to hoping my instincts are right once more.
